Change in SWT visa application procedures effective immediately

All repeat participants who were fingerprinted last year and who are in the middle of their academic career are eligible to submit applications via drop-box.

Qualified Summer Work and Travel USA applicants who can use the drop-box program include those who fulfill the following criteria:

• are NOT in their final year of study;
• participated in the program last year (summer 2008);
• returned to Romania on time last year (by October 6, 2008);
• are Romanian citizens.

These applications and supporting documents may be submitted to the consular section via a courier service. Include the following documents for each applicant:

• DS-156 (signed by the applicant in original)
• DS-157 (for male applicants only)
• DS-158
• Adeverinta (in original)
• Photo taken in the last 6 months (check embassy website for exact photo requirements)
• Passports (current and previous)
• Airline boarding passes as proof of return on time last year
• Official transcripts stamped and sealed in an envelope
• SEVIS receipt
• DS-2019 form (in original)
• Work contract in the USA (copy is OK)
• Receipt from the Bank of Transylvania (the computer version in original)
